"Memoir" (also "we", "us") provides the Memoir service at memoir.audio and related pages. If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at hello@memoir.audio.
Memoir lets a buyer set up a memoir for a storyteller (which may be the buyer or a loved one). The storyteller speaks with an AI biographer that asks questions; the conversation is recorded, and we produce edited audiobook chapters in the storyteller's own voice. Finished chapters can be listened to and shared with family.
The interviewer is an artificial-intelligence voice agent, not a human. Chapters are produced with a combination of automated and human editing. The storyteller's recorded voice is the storyteller's real voice; the production (music, sound, mastering, and the narrator introduction) is created by us.
If you set up a memoir for someone other than yourself, you confirm that you have that person's permission to record them and to create a memoir from their stories. The storyteller is also asked to consent at the start of their first recording. If a storyteller does not consent, do not record them. Either the buyer or the storyteller may ask us to stop and to delete the recordings at any time.
The stories, recordings, transcripts, and photos belong to the storyteller and their family — not to us. To provide the service, you grant Memoir a limited licence to store, process, transcribe, edit, produce, and deliver that content for the purpose of creating and delivering the memoir and operating the service. We do not sell your content, and we do not use your recordings to train third-party AI models.
You can permanently delete a storyteller and all of its recordings, transcripts, and chapters at any time from your account ("Delete this memoir & all its data"), or by emailing us. Deletion is irreversible. See the Privacy Policy for details.
We work hard to keep recordings safe (with automatic saving and backups), but the service is provided "as is". We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Memoir is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it. Because these recordings are irreplaceable, we especially encourage you to download and keep your finished chapters.
We may update these Terms; we'll post the new date above and, for material changes, notify account holders. Continuing to use the service means you accept the updated Terms.
You may stop using the service and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are seriously or repeatedly breached.
These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction — to be set before launch], and the courts of that place have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
